Another Success Story: Jimmy
When Jimmy was in kindergarten, he was already falling behind in reading. He read very slowly and the entire process of reading was frustrating and overwhelming. Through diagnostic testing at the Discovery Center, Jimmy's auditory processing problem of not connecting the sounds and letter symbols was detected. Working with the Fast ForWord program, the Discovery Center teachers were able to help Jimmy process what he read. Now Jimmy is in third grade and has blossomed into a fluent reader.

I could not believe the changes in my son Tim since we started using Discovery Educational Center. We are just thrilled to death. I am constantly getting calls or notes from the teachers about "awesome" work. Many of these teachers knew him last year, too. This is definitely a success story.

Another Success Story: Elizabeth
No matter how hard Elizabeth studied for a test, she always froze. Because she didn't know what to study or how to follow the directions on the test, she didn't have any confidence. When Elizabeth worked with a teacher in the Discovery Center, she was taught how to organize her homework, highlight her classnotes, and how to study key material for tests. These strategies were specifically developed to fit Elizabeth's needs and helped her become a successful test-taker.

Another Success Story: Natalie
Natalie struggled with reading. She knew she didn't read as well as her friends and was often embarrassed and frustrated. But after working with a teacher in the Discovery Educational Center her reading has improved. As she's developed her reading, her self-esteem has also bloomed. Reading well gives her a real sense of accomplishment.
